I've been trying to get help for my ready to collect passport at Embassy Canberra and I also Called more than 50 times, its been more than a week but no one received the call. shittiest service ever. Nothing to be proud of our country and services they offer to their citizen abroad.

Not sure where the positive reviews about "excellent service" are coming from. TOTALLY inept and incompetent. Shocking considering they are representing their own nation in a foreign country. I feel sorry for anyone who is in a desperate situation. First they lost our paperwork that had been express posted and tracking showed that it arrived the very next day. They took two weeks to find it in their office.

Very responsive to calls, prompt to help and must say way better experience than it used to be in past. Staffs are very friendly and communicative. thank you.

Then they lost our reply paid express envelope in order to return the new and old passports. After having the cheek to request us to post a positive review on Google, they express posted the new passport at their own expense but claimed they had lost the old one!!! What the heck? Didn't both old and new passports arrive from Nepal in the same package? How could they lose one and not the other? After ringing up and kicking up a stink they conveniently "found" the passport within two minutes. A little odd in my opinion. So they claimed they would post the old passport and sent us tracking details. However, the tracking details do not work. Waiting for a response from them as to why.

Then they accepted the passport photo in which the person had a scar with some butterfly tape over his eye. This in itself was technically not their fault because even the post office should have notified us if it was going to be an issue since they take passport photos thousands of times a day and know what the standard is regarding acceptable photos. However, when the form got to Nepal, the passport office over there refused the application based on that photo. Thank goodness we have family over in Nepal who can liaise on our behalf. Our brother sorted the issue out and had the passport approved and sent urgently back to Canberra.

With limited staff the embassy of Nepal is doing really excellent work. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
